Life drawing - Central station

As an aspiring Animator & Illustrator it is important for me to develop a level of skill in drawing and reinterpretating anatomy and environment. In order to continue my devepment as an artist I have been spending time capturing the pose and form of individuals and environment at Newcastle central station.

This experience has been an enjoyable one and to anyone who hasnt given it a try before, I recommend life drawing in an active setting such as a train station! Drawing moving people is not only a challange but so funny to try! :')

Ja-boe-boe - Experimental illustration

Whilst heading home from collage one night I popped into HMV and started looking through dvds, books and comics. I stumbled across a comic called paper girls. The cover of the book consisted off a characters line art with a block colour filling the entire design. The background was a gradient with colours that complimented each other.

Inspired by this design, I created an illustration of my character Ja-Boe-Boe in order to play around with the technique, this is my result:

Do you like the technique I used? What do you think of my illustration? Comment below!

Meatball Mayhem! - Handdrawn animation

As part of a live brief to create a promotional video for the festival on the wall, I created a 12 frame animation as a base design for mask to be motion tracked to a body.

As an aspiring animator I found this to be an exciting and enjoyable opportunity to experiment and learn. Sitting down and calculating the motion each frame would consist has given me a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to continue with hand drawn animation.

Meet the marvelous meatball himself! :

Cinema 4D - BMO!

As part of my continued development in the creation of the 'Origins of SickJuju', I devised an experiment to develop my knowledge in the software Cinema 4D. For this experiment i decided i was going to build a character in order to familiarise myself with the ins and outs of the software. The character I decided to create is BMO from the animated series 'adventure time'!.

I really enjoyed the process when creating bmo. This experiment has only scratched the surface with how powerful a tool cinema 4D is when creating content.

Do you like my take on Bmo? Want to show me something you have made in C4D? Comment below!
